Corporate Videography Cost in Malaysia: What Your Quote Should Include

Author: Joshua LimPublished Updated 4 min read

Corporate videography production in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, featuring professional cameras, lighting equipment, video editing and a production quotation checklist.

In Kuala Lumpur and the Klang Valley, corporate videography typically costs RM 3,000 to RM 15,000 for a one-day interview or event shoot, and RM 8,000 to RM 30,000 or more for a full corporate profile or brand film. A good quote lists the crew, shoot days, equipment, editing, revisions, music, delivery formats and usage rights. If any of these is missing, ask before you sign.

I’m Joshua Lim, a producer, filmmaker and videographer based in Petaling Jaya. I have 15+ years in production and 280+ projects for brands such as Nestlé, Sharp and Amway. This guide explains what corporate videography costs and how to read a quote.

Typical corporate videography prices in Malaysia

These are typical 2026 Klang Valley ranges published by Malaysian production agencies. Your quote depends on scope.

What should a corporate video quote include?

MusicLicensed or composed music, and where it can be used

What is often not included

Ask specifically about these, because they are the usual reasons a final bill is higher than the quote:

  • Extra revision rounds, which typically cost RM 1,500 to RM 3,500 each
  • Talent fees, typically RM 800 to RM 3,500 per shoot day
  • Location fees, typically RM 1,500 to RM 25,000
  • Drone with a licensed pilot, typically RM 2,500 to RM 5,500 per day
  • Custom or licensed music
  • Extra language versions and subtitles
  • Raw footage, which is usually not handed over unless agreed
  • Overtime, travel and parking

What affects the price most

  1. Shoot days and crew size. The biggest factor.
  2. Scope of editing. Motion graphics, multiple languages and many versions add time.
  3. Talent and locations. Hired talent and venue fees can add thousands.
  4. Usage rights. A video for your website costs less than one used in paid advertising.
  5. Deadline. Fast turnaround may carry a surcharge.

How to compare quotes fairly

Put each quote in the same table: crew, shoot days, equipment, edit length, revisions, usage rights and delivery date. A lower price usually means one of these is smaller or missing. Ask each producer to show past work for a similar brief.

How to get a useful quote from me

Send these five things:

  1. What the video is for, such as sales, hiring, investors or internal use
  2. Where it will be shown
  3. Preferred length and number of versions
  4. Number of locations and people on camera
  5. Deadline and budget range

I quote after a short briefing call and list every item above in writing.

Frequently asked questions

How much does corporate videography cost in Malaysia? Typically RM 3,000 to RM 15,000 for a one-day interview or event shoot, and RM 8,000 to RM 30,000 or more for a corporate profile or brand film in Kuala Lumpur and the Klang Valley.

What is included in the quoted price? A complete quote should list pre-production, crew, shoot days, equipment, editing, music, revision rounds, deliverables, usage rights, delivery dates and payment terms.

Why are corporate video quotes so different? Scope differs. Crew size, shoot days, equipment, talent, editing and usage rights each change the price.

Are revisions included in the price? Usually a set number of rounds is included, commonly one or two. Extra rounds are charged, so confirm the number before you sign.

Do I pay a deposit? Most producers ask for a deposit before the shoot and the balance on delivery or by milestones. Agree this in writing.

Can I get a fixed price? Yes, if the brief is clear. A fixed quote should state exactly what is included and what counts as extra.
